Edebali was able to get a scholarship with USA Football’s International Student Program with the help of Lyons. He became one of nine German students within the ISP, including four at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, N.H., where Lyons is the coach. Lyons said, “Some of these kids come over with a pretty good understanding of football and skills, once we learned their best position, some of the techniques were new to them. For the most part, I’m amazed how quickly a player like Kasim can pick up things.”

Dr Elias Karam at the Aschaffenburg clinic in southern Bavaria said that the mother and new born child are doing well. The report says the delivery was done by caesarian section and the child weighed two kilograms. While the woman became the oldest German to given birth, it was far from a world record. A Spanish woman of 67 gave birth to twins at the end of the year 2006 and before that a Romanian woman at 66 gave birth to twins. Dr Karam said, “This woman came to me because she needed my help. As a doctor, I gave it without question.”

At Claremont Preparatory School in Lower Manhattan, 5th grade students are required to take the most popular dialect of Chinese “Mandarin”, only if the student wants to continue with the Chinese. Headmaster of Claremont school, Irwin Shlachter said “It has been a huge success, more than 60 percent of our fifth grade students continue on with Mandarin when it comes to the time to choose a language.” Shlachter also said “Americans are traditionally comfortable speaking only one language, and we are changing that, it is our job as educators to prepare this generation of young people for the global community of the future.” A number of people are interested in learning Chinese for different reasons like business, travel, education and the most interesting reason is people love the culture and want to be part of it. Shlachter said that learning Chinese is not at all difficult and you will get the tones if you practice for thirty minutes daily.

It can be among friends or members of a group. According to him language arbitrates between power and subordination. Power is an imbalance, which can be obvious as in a master-slave relationship, when the subordinate is unaware of his or her position of disadvantage. The language we use is a basic instrument to build relationships; the very fabric of interpersonal life whether these are sentimental, industrial, or generational. The English Philosopher J. L. Austin reminds us, we use words not only to make true or false judgements, but also to make things.
